Tricycle World Champion, Carl Saint has found that his performance on the road has increased significantly following his decision to have an advanced eye treatment to improve his vision. The 45 year old champion cyclist has just won the 2011 Tricycle World Championship in France – his first major title following replacement lens eye treatment.

Despite a severe retinal tear in danger of imminent detachment, macular problems and very poor sight, 34 year old Ashar Saleem has managed to recover his vision and become glasses free in the process.

I have been wearing glasses since the age of 4 years but for the first time in my life I have perfect vision without them.

As an artist I had always considered my sense of colour to be perfect - until the operation - it opened a new world of colour. If all medical treatment was as good as my eye treatment has been under Mr Rehman then life would be so much easier.

I received excellent treatment from Mr Rehman and all his staff, my sight is now excellent and I've been able to abandon varifocal glasses and contact lenses. Excellent care and a fantastic outcome !

There was an open and honest discussion about all the issues involved to ensure I was able to make an informed decision about which lenses to choose. I always felt that I was valued as a patient and was given plenty of time to conisder all the options. Mr Rehman was first class in every aspect.

The care I received from members of staff and Mr Rehman before,, during and after the operation was excellent. The fact that I can now see, read and even thread needles is absolutely brilliant !

Until I had lens implant surgery I had worn glasses for 50 years, becoming increasingly short sighted & only being able to wear contacts for limited periods. with one eye minus 13.00 and the other minus 10.00 I could not see beyond my nose without glasses.

The impact in all areas of my life was quite dramatic. Golfing is now playable just as easily in the rain - no more glasses to be cleaned from raindrops or fingermarks ! Pre surgery I was totally dependent on glasses & therefore felt very vulnerable, these difficulties crystallised on a recent holiday when I broke my glasses and spent the rest of the holiday severely incapacitated... I wore contact lenses from the moment I woke to the last thing at night for 43 years. I play golf & always suffered from drying eyes and grit blowing into my eyes.
