Wet AMD
Approximately 10% of all people who have AMD will have the wet form of the disease. Its generally considered that wet AMD is a more progressive form of AMD with the potential for serious sight loss occuring in a matter of weeks or months in the absence of treatment. Overall wet AMD is thought to affect around 1-2% of people over the age of 75 with a figure of perhaps upto 4 % of people above the age of 85 developing signs of this condition.
